The President of Argentina, Mauricio Macri, and his Paraguayan counterpart, Mario Abdo Benítez, signed today several bilateral agreements, one of which created a new border crossing between the two countries, plus precisely between the cities of Ituzaingó and Ayolas. The structure of the Yacyretá dam will serve as a bridge between the two cities.
The Argentinian and Paraguayan leaders today led a meeting at the Olivos Residence to sign bilateral agreements, including an exchange of diplomatic notes to allow the international circulation of the Yacyretá dam. This agreement, signed by Foreign Ministers Jorge Faurie and Luis Alberto Castiglioni, created a new border crossing between the cities of Ituzaingó, in the province of Corrientes, and Ayolas, in Paraguayan territory.
During the meeting, foreign ministers also signed another agreement providing for the transfer of ownership of a free zone from Paraguay to the city of Rosario.
