Accompanied by 25 exporting companies, the Argentinian Beef Pavilion, developed by the Institute for the Promotion of Argentine Beef (IPCVA), participates in SIAL Shanghai, China.
Argentine beef sales to the People's Republic of China have grown by leaps and bounds since the opening of the market in 2011 and even doubled last year.
"In just a few years we have gone from 220 tons to 180,000 tons, and as we did last year, we will continue to stimulate demand through intense promotion of the institute, not only through at fairs, but also through advertising, marketing and training of chiefs and purchasing managers, "said owner Ulises Forte. of the body.
Growth from one year to the next between 2017 and 2018 marks the differences: exports went from 86,000 to 180,377 tonnes. Expressed in value, Argentine exporters received just over one million dollars for their products imported to China in 2012, compared with more than 786 million dollars in 2018.
On the first day of the fair, Secretary of the Agribusiness of the Nation, Luis Miguel Etchevehere, and Argentina's ambbadador to China, Diego Guelar, visited the IPCVA booth. . They agreed on the considerable efforts made by the livestock chain. and meats and the great opportunity represented by East in general and China in particular.
Vice President Jorge Torelli, Bahian Councilor Jorge Grimberg and Daniel Urcía, President of FIFRA, also attended the meeting.

Another remarkable aspect of this new edition of SIAL is that the crisis caused by African swine fever – which resulted in a mbadive slaughter of pigs in China – has generated a significant protein deficit in the country, a situation that triggers demand and prices which, they estimate, will increase throughout the fair.
For participation in SIAL, the Argentine beef pavilion extends over more than 800 m2, in which exporting companies have individual spaces around a large restaurant. There, exporters invite their customers to enjoy large steaks on the grill.
