Argentine delegation wins 14 medals at Special Olympics World Games

The Argentine delegation is already back after participating in the Special Olympics Summer Games which took place for the first time in the Middle East, Abu Dhabi March 8th to 21st.

The country was represented by a delegation of 19 people between athletes and technicians from 11 provinces of the country, who competed in swimming, athletics, petanque, horse riding and skateboarding.

In total, Argentina harvested 14 medals: six gold, four silver and four bronze.

During seven days of athletic achievements, thousands of athletes, coaches, families and spectators gathered to celebrate their performances and efforts.

Since 1979, Argentine athletes have been able to compete in the Special Olympics World Games in an uninterrupted 21st participation.

Argentina's participation was declared of interest by the Argentine Olympic Committee who emphasized the importance of this world-clbad competition, which offers national athletes the opportunity to wear our flag and show the skills and achievements of people with intellectual disabilities worldwide.
