Argentineans abroad report that Cambiemos uses his emails to campaign

The government uses the personal contact data of Argentine citizens abroad, without their consent, to ask them to vote for Mauricio Macri, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta and María Eugenia Vidal on October 27th.

Marcela contacted Discover because on the 15th of October he received an email in which he was asked to vote for Together for change. The box from which the message arrived is [email protected] and, far from inviting her to participate in elections from abroad, she resided in the United States 20 years ago and was invited to choose the re-election of the ruling party.

In dialogue with this media, Marcela He explained that the only public body that has his personal email address is the embassy, ​​since they asked him to renew the document or passport. In this regard, he said: "I was scandalized to receive this because not only did I disagree with his policy, which I find disastrous, but that they use my personal information ", and wondered what other data of his could handle.

In the mail that came to him, he explains: "You have received this email because you are a subscriber of this site." By clicking on the link, the web navigation redirects to mm2019exterior.wixsite.com, a page of Together for Change – Volunteer Spokespersons Abroad. "They are supposed to send it to me because I'm subscribed to a page (of the ruling party), which I have not even done in a dream," he explained. Discover.

The body of the message is titled "October 27, you can vote president" and explains: "The Argentineans residing abroad have been automatically allowed to vote for the electoral justice since 2017 (as long as they have changed address), so they invite you to check it in the register.

In a second paragraph, we read: "Being Argentinian is much more than just remembering childhood or shouting the goal with the jersey of a World Cup. It's being there when the Republic has need you", followed by the Together for Change logo and the Macri photo, Miguel Ángel Pichetto, Vidal and Rodríguez Larreta.

The same email has reached Nicolas, who assured this media: "From the Argentinean consulate in Madrid, they use my personal data to send me election propaganda" and also to Mariano, who said: "Without a doubt, another case of use (abuse) of state databases, since I reside in Spain and that I am sent to the courier that I provide to the & # 39; 39; embassy ".

In this context, they emphasized being volunteers who support this government with the intention of informing residents abroad that their right to vote is for Argentine national authorities to "leave behind 70 years of populism" with values ​​such as "l & # 39; integration into the world, independent justice, freedom of expression, transparency, humility and democracy "".

This e-mail reached Marcela, Mariano and Nicolás, who denounced it before Discover, but many other Argentineans abroad have surely received similar communication without their consent for the use of personal data.
