A man was arrested this morning by police on charges of using a knife in an attempt to steal a girl’s cell phone and injure a young man in the arm, official sources reported.

Spokesmen said the incident occurred shortly before 3 p.m., when members of the Patrol Command visited the Juana Azurduy and Chubut area after a 911 emergency phone call was made.

Under these circumstances, they questioned Verónica Barú, who told them that a person, who was wearing a white cap and green shorts, had threatened her with a knife and attempted to steal her phone, although she did not was unable to do so and fled.

At the same site, they also contacted Thiago Schneider, who said an individual attacked him for no reason and cut off his left forearm.

The young man provided a description of the subject which police said coincided with data provided by the first victim.

With these elements, the men in uniform searched the area and managed to locate the suspect, identified as Mauro Alberto Seguel (23), in an area of ​​roads near the United States and Mexico, seizing in his possession a knife. with yellow handle.

Sources said Schneider received medical attention at the scene for the cut.

Seguel was available for prosecution in flagrante delicto and charged with the crimes of attempted aggravated theft and injury.
