Almost 4 million Oxford / AstraZeneca vaccines to arrive in Argentina from next Monday strengthen the vaccination operation carried out in all jurisdictions of the country, within the framework of the contract signed with this laboratory several months ago and for which there was a significant delay in the delivery of doses.
A a total of 3,960,000 doses will land between this Monday and the end of the month, out of the total of 22,400,000 vaccines which constitutes the contract signed almost a year ago and which then suffered several delays, in particular due to packaging problems in Mexico.
To this figure will be added other 861600 thanks to the Covax mechanism, from the World Health Organization, and the loads already arrived a few days ago from Moscow of the Sputnik V vaccine on the flights of Aerolineas Argentinas.

As for continuing to add vaccines from laboratories that have not yet been applied in the country, government negotiating to bail out deal with North American company Pfizer, on which President Alberto Fernández declared that “the link” with this company has not been severed after the comings and goings of the last year.
Argentina has received a total of 12,698,250 doses to date, between the Sputnik V, Sinopharm and AstraZeneca vaccines.
Of this total, 6,535,850 doses correspond to the vaccine Sputnik V (5,475,690 of the first component and 1,060,160 of the second component); 4,000,000 to Sinopharm; 580,000 a Covishield / AstraZeneca; and 1,082,400 on AstraZeneca received through the COVAX mechanism.
