At least 90 detained in 15 days for CDMX robbery

In a period of 15 days, Investigative Police Officers (PDI) of Mexico City Attorney General’s Office (FGJCDMX) 90 people were arrested for the crime of robbery.

The agency pointed out that among the detainees, one was in the act, meaning that at the time of the theft, 84 were men and seven were women. They were all taken after intelligence jobs to be suspected thieves in different ways.

“The crimes for which they were apprehended are robbery, aggravated, simple and with violence; for theft of passenger, passerby and room of the house; in addition to auto parts, retail, self-service and department stores“, said the prosecution.

He stressed that among all the cases, stands out the arrest of four men, who summoned the victim to the Casas Alemán neighborhood, town hall Gustavo A. Madero, with the hypothesis the purpose of purchasing a vehicle from you; however, their property would have been stolen on the spot.

In addition, three people who received two arrest warrants, each for possibly stolen in different ways.

Likewise, the investigative police arrested a man who possibly stolen money and high-end watches an address in the Obrero Popular district, town hall Azcapotzalco.

In another case, after the corresponding work, the officers arrested a man, who possibly stole a backpack from an account holder with money that a few moments before, he had withdrawn from a bank branch, in the colony of America, Miguel Hidalgo.

The agency stressed that in all cases, “court orders were executed by elements of the PDI in strict compliance with police protocols and with full respect for human rights.”

According to information from the head of government, Claudia Sheinbaum, the Citizen Security Secretariat (CSS) and the CDMX Attorney General’s Office (FGJCDMX), in the first semesters In 2020 and 2021, a reduction in all crimes was observed in Mexico City with the exception of theft from a carrier with an increase of 71.4% and theft from a taxi with 14.6%.

Tomás Pliego Calvo, coordinator of the Citizen Security Cabinet and the Attorney General, reported last May that from 2019 to 2020, there was a 34% reduction in crime; in exchange, from 2020 to 2021, there was a decrease of 19.5%.

In 2019 and 20, there was a decrease in all crimes that are assessed weekly by the security elements, In 2021, all crimes were reduced, with the exception of theft from a carrier, with an increase of 71.4%, and theft in a taxi with 14.6%.

According to the report, theft from carriers went from 2020 with 21 cases to 2021 with 36, i.e. increased by 71.4%; For its part, passenger thefts in taxis increased by 14.9%, from 67 to 77 cases in 2021.

In impact crimes, there was a 47% reduction between the first four months of 2019 compared to the same period of 2021; in addition, there was a 19% drop between the first four months of 2020 compared to the first four months of 2021. Regarding the weekly average of high impact crimes, it was 589.4 in 2019, 385.6 in 2020 and 312.4 this year.

As, Ernestine Godoy, holder of FGJCDMX, said that in the first four months of the year 7,216 people were linked, including 4,377 in pre-trial detention; During this period, more than 2,000 people were linked for theft and 102 defendants were held in preventive detention for theft.
