The civil-military uprising began in Venezuela today with the aim of ousting President Nicolás Maduro from the government, killing at least one dead person, 109 wounded and 83 inmates, political sources said.
The fatal victim was identified as Samuel Méndez, 25, and died in the state of Aragua, according to the Venezuelan Observatory of Social Conflict (OVCS), which did not detailed circumstances of death.

Similarly, the OVCS reported on its Twitter account "at least 109 wounded" by the "repression in 12 provincial states".
Previously, the health secretariat of the municipality of Carco de Chaco reported that only 69 people had been treated in hospitals in that jurisdiction, including two for gunshot wounds and 41 for rubber bullets.
Meanwhile, the NGO Penal Forum (FP) reported that nearly 20 people (the 21 in Argentina) had recorded 83 inmates, including 59 in the state of Zulia and only two in Caracas. (Télam)
