At least one person died and several were injured this Friday in a shootout in the American city of Aurora, in the state of Illinois, as reported by the Kane County Attorney's Office .
Official sources quoted by the American television channel CNN indicated that there were at least four officers among the wounded, although there is currently no information on the severity of their condition .
"The shooter was arrested," said Aurora's mayor in a brief message on the social network Twitter, minutes after the police confirmed an "incident with an active shooter" in an area where there is a mall.

The governor of Illinois, Juliana Stratton, pointed out that the incident occurred a day after the first anniversary of the shooting in a school in Parkland, Florida, killing 17 people. "Armed violence is a national emergency," he said in a message on Twitter.
For her part, the White House press secretary, Sarah Sanders, confirmed that the president, Donald Trump, had been informed of the shooting and was "following the situation closely" in the city.
