This week the family of a priest from San Luis Potosí, identified as Pedro HS, spent the most disturbing hours not finding the whereabouts of the religious and to think he had been the victim of a crime. For its part, father also spent hours of anguish, but because he was detained.
According to local media, the priest of the Church of San Juan Bautista, located in the municipality of Tamazunchale in the state, was reported missing by his family after 24 hours without news from him. Through social networks, his relatives denounced to the population that they had no news of the priest and they also reported the case to authorities.
According to the complaints, Pedro HS announced that he would make a trip to Ciudad Valles to get to an engagement, but he did not reach it. For this reason, all information had to be communicated to 911.
The surprise of those around him came when they learned that Pedro HS had been arrested for being found with a woman on private property.
On the Difusión Huasteca MX website, it was reported that the Texquitote Primero Vigilance Council tracked down the priest and the woman, whose identity was anonymous, at 11:00 p.m. last Tuesday. They were both hidden in the undergrowth.
To be in private property, both were arrested and taken to the municipal delegation to make them aware of their behavior, because this place closes the passage to foreigners from 22:00.
When authorities questioned the couple, the two refused to identify themselves, so they were both admitted to the community prison on charges of administrative and moral misconduct. In addition, Pedro failed to accredit himself as a priest.
On the other hand the The Catholic Church has assured that an investigation will be opened to determine what the consequences will be which will reach the parish priest.
“Given what has happened in recent days in the diocese, regarding the supposed disappearance of Father Pedro Hernández Santos, vicar of the San Juan Bautista parish in Tamazunchale, and after learning that the father had been detained by the community authority of Texquitote, at the instruction of Bishop Roberto Yenny García, of this diocese, requested that an investigation be opened to avoid speculation and proceed in accordance with the provisions of the Church, ”he explained.
