Auschwitz was also an industry of lies. The prisoners were asked to bring their jewels and their money because the first months did not pay for their work. They thought they were going to work (only the strongest were badigned to forced labor). The victims supposedly went through hygienic showers and were actually sent to the gas chambers (before leaving their personal belongings labeled, never to see them again). "Efficiency" has been supplemented with crematoria of up to 10,000 people a day.
