Travel | The destination of the week and the best advice for the traveler
Every Friday.
Trip did the calculation of how much will that cost tickets for the main destination of the summer, Mar del Plata, in train, bus and plane; and also a mean calculus to get into car belonging to two roads: highway 2, direct, or roads 29 and 226.
Auto (from 4h 30))
There are three main routes to get to Mardel from Buenos Aires: the most direct and the most usual is the Route 2; and alternatives are routes 36 and 11, closer to the coast, and the combination of road 29 until near Balcarce and from there Route 226.
Highway 2 is the most direct route: 415 km. How to get there by car to Mar del Plata will cost around $ 1,838 (Mauricio Nievas)
By Autopista to La Plata, then Highway 2, 415 km and four tolls. The first route is at South Dock and Hudson, each costing $ 25. On the road 2, the tolls are located in Samborombón and Maipú, and you have to pay 75 dollars for each of them. 200 toll plus naphtha. If we calculate an average consumption of 10 km per liter, it will be around 42 liters of naphtha. At an average of $ 39 per liter of super, it would be $ 1,638 in fuel, which gives a total of $ 1,838 naphtha and tolls (or $ 3,676 return). If two people travel, they cost $ 919 each. For a typical family (four people), it is the cheapest way of transportation, but not so far from the train: $ 459.5 each.
The variant routes 36 + 11 has the same toll cost even if it is not a motorway, and more than km: 486. It is therefore not advisable to save money. The most economical alternative is Route 29 to Paraje Don Alberto, near Balcarce, and from there Route 226 to Mardel: this option has a one-time toll of $ 45 and 477 km of highway. The total cost for a standard car would be 1,905.30 ($ 952.65 each if there are two people, $ 476.32 if there are four).
Train (from 5:30 am)
From December 7, a direct service will connect Constitución to Mar del Plata in 5:30 am (David Fernández)
From 7 December, the Buenos Aires-Mar del Plata line will add a new direct service (non-stop intermediate). It will take 5h 30 minutes to connect Constitución to the Feliz terminal and cost $ 660 per trip. $ 1,320 round trip, first, and $ 795 per stretch ($ 1,590 round trip) to Pullman. Of course, there is a 10% discount for those who purchase their ticket via the Internet (www.webventas.sofse.gob.ar), by paying with credit or debit cards; 40% discount for pensioners and 50% for children under 12, while children under 3 years of age who do not occupy a seat travel for free.
The new direct train will leave Buenos Aires daily at 6:22 am and leave Mar del Plata at 1:14 pm. The common trains, with 12 intermediate stops, will have the same fare although they take between 6:15 and 6:30 am. They leave Constitution Monday to Saturday at 15:29 and Sunday at 15:20, and return each day from Mar del Plata to 1,01.
Bus (5:15 am)
Sleeper cars add great comfort.

Airplane (50))
Airlines offers return tickets from $ 3,189 (Delfo Rodriguez)
This is the most expensive option and obviously the fastest. We are looking for tickets with departure date on January 28 and return on February 6 and, interestingly, we find them cheaper in Aerolíneas Argentinas than in the low cost Avianca, which is the other one from Buenos Aires: Aerolíneas, Aeroparque round-trip tickets to Astor Piazzolla airport start at $ 3,189.83 (Although you must hurry because there are few places at the best price). In Avianca, however, also from Aeroparque, we did not find tickets for less than $ 5,730 round trip.
