According to local authorities, a one-and-a-half year old girl died Sunday after falling from a cruise ship lying at Pan American wharf of the Puerto Rican capital.
The minor rushed out of the cruiser Freedom of the Seas, apparently after slipping her grandfather's arms. The little girl, Chloe Wiegand, was the daughter of an American couple, who was cruising with other family members.
The Public Security Secretary of the Puerto Rican government, Elmer Román, said that one of the girl's grandparents allegedly came out of a window and that after having lost control of the girl, she rushed to the void, without giving details of the reason for her behavior or how he fell.
The manager pointed out that they were receiving psychological attention given the state of nervousness in which they found themselves.
"They traveled with the girl, their paternal and maternal grandparents," said Román, who personally went to the port of San Juan to report directly on the state of the situation.
