Bank robbery in Porto Xavier: it is unclear how much money has been taken and the search operation is continuing

José Ríos, a journalist from San Javier, said five people had participated yesterday in the robbery of the headquarters of Banco do Brasil in Porto Xavier. The criminals were able to steal money and also took hostages. In addition, they took away a car belonging to an obereña family.

The survivors had already arrived at the scene by car but, taking hostages, they needed another cell phone. Five people were also kidnapped and released ten kilometers away on a road to Puerto Lucena. "Due to the focus of the criminals, a bank employee said that they apparently belonged to the coast of Santa Catarina," Ríos said during a dialogue with LT 17.

The Misiones police participate in this operation to find the perpetrators and currently badist the missionaries who were there. It's a 81 and 71 year old couple who was accompanied by a 25 year old young man who was driving his vehicle.

Fortunately, no one was shot or wounded; there was only material damage when they entered the Bank and destroyed the glbad door with gunshots. "It's a quiet neighborhood that has been very shocked," Ríos said.

With regard to the stolen money, there is still no certainty. The only thing that can be recovered is a briefcase that the delinquents forgot in the car of the Argentines during the change of vehicle.
