From the early hours of the morning, the seven candidates for the presidency of the Republic were very active.

The presidential agenda began with statements to the media, in which they detailed their visits throughout the day. All accepted the call for voters to vote early.

Starting at 5.30 am, the candidate Saúl Méndez, for the party Broad front for democracy (FAD) opened the doors to journalists from their home in Nuevo San Juan, in the province of Colon. He added that one of the first items on the agenda of his day will be the visit and the delivery of a wreath at the tomb of Victoriano Lorenzo, located in the Amador Cemetery, in Panama. On election day today, he stressed: "never again for the same".

The candidate for Democratic Revolutionary Party (PRD) and MOLIRENALaurentino nito Cortizo, thanked the support and the affection that they brought him throughout the campaign. "The triumph will belong to everyone, continue to work until the last day, we will go with everything," said Cortizo. He added that he would honor his mother "by working hard and fighting corruption".

José Isabel Blandón, of Panameñista Party and Popular, thanked the support received by his family, candidates from both parties, including independents, as well as supporters from across the country.

The official candidate asked to vote carefully this Sunday, "by evaluating the different candidates". "The decision will affect your parent in the next five years," he added.

"Courage, courage, we can all be surprised today," said presidential candidate for the free application Ana Matilde Gómez.

"I made an effort to let the world know that Panamanian women are ready to rule, I have demonstrated an experience, a trajectory," Gómez said.

Meanwhile, Ricardo Lombana, presidential candidate for free applications, began his day by preparing breakfast for his family, as he usually does every Sunday. Scrambled eggs, toast, coffee or orange juice are Lombana's favorite dishes.

Then he received the Chinese community of Panama who arrived at his residence, located in Hato Pintado, with an allegory of lions, animals that play a very important role in Chinese mythology and represent joy and happiness.

The lion dance was accompanied by drums and cymbals, which mark the movements of the dancers. This dance is performed on special occasions to wish good luck and to hunt evil.

Lombana also talked about what he would expect from the electorate. Panamanians evaluate their decision without forgetting the candidates and parties that squandered the Panamanians' money. He mentioned the hiring in the payroll and the donations processed by the deputies of the National Assembly (AN, which added a little more than 166 million dollars of 2014 to this date, according to a report published by the controller General of the Republic).

Lombana, a candidate who used social networks and the Internet to connect with voters, said he trusted the youth vote and the mandate he will give to the country's future president. His words were uttered when he left home, having lunch with his family and before going to vote.

The other candidate for free postulation, Marco Ameglio, invited people to vote early "with wisdom". He recalled that this decision lasts five years, so we must ask ourselves "what is the country we want" at the moment. "It's time to act," he said.

The candidate Democratic change and AllianceRomulo Roux arrived at 7:45 am at the Sheraton Hotel, where he made his first statements to the media.

The CD candidate asked his constituents to vote conscientiously to achieve a change in which the economy is developing. "We are mobilized, we are structured to achieve economic growth, we will work on the social agenda left behind," said Roux.
