Bill Gates and George Soros to buy UK company that manufactures coronavirus tests for solidarity purposes

The foundations led by George Soros and Bill Gates have announced the launch of a new initiative, Global Access Health (GAH – Global Access to Health), with the aim of strengthen access to medical technology around the world. For that will purchase from UK company Mologic Ltd, known for devices that fit into the nostrils used to perform rapid tests of Covid-19. The system can also be used to test for dengue, schistosomiasis and river blindness.

The GAH consortium, which includes the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Soros Economic Development Fund (SEDF), plans invest “at least” 41 million dollars in this agreement, as reported in a press release.

Covid-19 rapid tests allow the world is back to normal, so that bars, restaurants, shops and offices reopen. The system allows people without symptoms to have a quick test to see if they have the virus or not. Many times these tests are needed to get to different places.

Sean Hinton, CEO of the Soros Foundation, said in a statement that the pandemic “painfully demonstrated fundamental inequalities” in global public health. Mologic was founded in 2003 by Mark Davis and his father, Professor Paul Davis, creator of one of the world’s first home pregnancy tests, Light blue. The company is focused on rapid testing for different diseases which can be instrumental in the treatment of patients around the world.

His extensive work in developing affordable tests for neglected tropical diseases has been supported by grants from various donors and, more importantly, by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Mologic’s technology has wide application in markets where rapid and accurate testing can help make a significant difference in patient care and outcomes.
