Bolivia on Tuesday confirmed the first case of mucormycosis, a disease known as “black fungus,” in a 42-year-old man recovered from the coronavirus, the health ministry reported.

According to the professional explanation, mucormycosis is an infection caused by fungi that can affect the nasal passages and lungs.
Black fungus cases have been detected in India, Iraq, Iran, Uruguay and Guatemala.
Bolivia has more than 474,500 infections and more than 17,850 deaths from the coronavirus, with a population of 11.5 million.
