Bolsonaro's approval dropped 16% since January, according to an Ibope poll

The honeymoon of Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro seems to be coming to an end, since a new survey Ibope shows a steady decline in its approval ratings.

Support to Bolsonaro It has dropped 16 percentage points since January, and currently stands at just over 50%, according to a poll released Wednesday by Ibope Intelligence.

The survey showed that 38% of Brazilians disapproved of his presidency.

As in his first few months in office, Bolsonaro continued to promote controversy in social networks, as he had done during his successful election campaign. Members of his government and supporters clashed several times, while questions arose as to his family's ties with the militias in Rio de Janeiro.

At the same time, Brazil's economic recovery shows signs of slowingand the government has not made much progress in its banner reform proposal: a review of the Brazilian pension system.

The survey also shows a decline in the badessment of the administration of Bolsonaro by the public. 34% of respondents think their administration is good, compared to 50% in January. The percentage of people who consider his government was raised to 24 percent from 11 percent in January.

Approval ratings are worse than those of past presidents Fernando Henrique Cardoso, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and Dilma Rousseff during the same period as his first terms. The investigation of Ibope interviewed 2,002 people from March 16 to 19 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points.
