Braves Broadcasters illustrate what's wrong with baseball

On Saturday night, as a society, we reached new heights of silence in the category of Old Whites complaining about the state of baseball today. Braves hosts, Chip Caray (Harry Caray's grandson) and Joe Simpson took a few minutes during the Braves-Dodgers game to complain about how the Dodgers were dressed during batting practice

. offhand manner. They asked their production crew to film the Dodgers during BP to illustrate their view that Dodgers wearing t-shirts and socks during stick practice were disrespectful to the game. Their reasons? They looked sloppy, and the Dodgers fans who came to the stadium to see BP would have no idea who the players were since they were not wearing uniforms. Joe Simpsons' voice was dripping with disdain as he said that the Dodgers organization should be embarrbaded, and he could not believe that Major League Baseball allows teams to wear that kind of outfit when the doors are open. Paradise forbids anyone to see them being cowardly and normal even for a second! * pearl clutches *

The amount of insane and unnecessary trolling concern in this 88-second clip is, honestly, pretty awesome. And to top it off, Simpson said that after seeing Chase Utley take BP in a t-shirt and without socks, he felt that it was an embarrbadment, and hinted that he no longer respected Utley. Yeah, Joe Simpson thinks Chase Utley is not professional. But not only Utley, he clearly thinks that not all Dodgers are professional for having deigned to wear something comfortable while they practice . Not even a game. TRAIN YOU. And Simpson did everything possible to do that, spending nearly two minutes denigrating the opposing team for not living up to its standards and pretty much saying that this kind of behavior is what's wrong with baseball

. like Simpson are what is wrong with baseball. Not just because he chose to focus on something completely insignificant to get on top of the game today and pretend to be a worried parent trying to rule over him. ### 39, turbulent teenager that's baseball in 2018, but because he refuses to understand baseball in 2018. strip off the individuality and personality of the players, but that's what the fans yearn to see. They want to see their favorite players and their favorite teams be a little different, showing a spark and a life, forcing baseball to adapt to their way of acting and playing and not the other way around [19659006] Baseball has a youth problem. MLB desperately wants to win young fans, but allowing regional sports networks to continue to hire old white men who seem to hate the game today is just pushing them away. When guys like Joe Simpson have nothing good to say about the game and decide to criticize players for being comfortable during PRACTICE, it does not help anyone.

Well, maybe that's not true. The Dodgers reacted exactly as they should have: they made fun of Simpson. Enrique Hernandez, on the fast track to becoming one of the great personalities of baseball (though he has not already done so), suggested that the Dodgers wear underwear in bikinis during BP, with the name of each player printed on the stick.

Justin Turner thought the dude's overalls might be the right choice. What about Chase Utley's shirt? It was a KCancer shirt, for the Jason Motte foundation to eliminate cancer, and a bunch of them have been sold since Simpson opened his pie hole.

Allen Iverson said it best: we are not talking about a game, we are talking about practice. Apparently, Joe Simpson does not know the difference.
