Brazil reached maximum number of deaths in one day with 3,780 deaths from coronavirus – telam

In the past 24 hours, 3,780 people have died.

Brazil today broke its daily record for coronavirus deaths by registering nearly 3,800 deaths, the health ministry of the second most affected country in the world has reported.

The health portfolio says 3,780 people have died in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths since the start of the pandemic to 317,646.

So far, the maximum number of deaths had been recorded last Friday, when 3,650 deaths had been recorded.

In addition, the South American giant today reported 84,494 new cases, bringing the total number of infections to 12,658,109, Sputnik reported.

In recent weeks, the hospital system in several states across the country has collapsed and regional authorities have started to apply more restrictive measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

President Jair Bolsonaro is against these measures and the new Minister of Health, Marcelo Queiroga, assured that he was not in favor of the application of a lockout at the national level because it will not be effective.
