British Prime Minister Theresa May has today ousted Defense Minister Gavin Williamson after opening an investigation into the leak of a secret government meeting on the telecommunications company Chinese Huawei.

Later, the same office announced in a statement that Penny Mordaunt will fill the vacancy, which will be the first woman to be the UK's defense minister, the BBC reported.

Williamson, who has held this position since 2017, has not commented after being deported.
