Businessman was celebrating his birthday with friends and a beer barrel exploded and killed him

A man from the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul died on September 17 in an unusual accident with a metal beer barrel while celebrating his birthday at his home in the city of Good camping, local media report.

Gilson do Nascimento, who had just turned 43 in her home in the Doña Augusta neighborhood, noticed at the party that the choppera was only producing beer foam due to a problem with the tap.

According to the niece of the fatal victim, the man called the company Express beer, who had rented the barrel from him, and received instructions on how to repair the fault temporarily until the company employee arrives to try to resolve the problem.

However, and for reasons that are still under investigation, as Nascimento attempted to repair the cannon, the device suddenly exploded. Pieces of metal smashed his head and the body causing fatal injuries.

The lawyer of the brewing company assures that the company had warned his client not to touch the equipment and wait for the technician to arrive. However, the clerk arrived too late and, according to the lawyer, found Gilson dead at the scene.

The next day, the authorities carried out an autopsy and clarified that the case was being investigated as an accident.

Nascimento six years ago had beaten cancer. On Sunday he was buried in the Jardim da Memoria cemetery, in the town of New Hamburg.
