Canada: 40 mine workers trapped underground since Sunday

Vale SA said in a statement that 39 employees are trapped in its Totten mine in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, after an incident at the well on Sunday afternoon.

The company noted that workers are safe and mobilize to exit the underground mine after disconnecting the employee transport vehicle.

Workers will exit through a secondary exit ladder system with support from the Vale Mine Rescue Team.
