Venezuelans are desperate. After almost a week without light, they face one of the worst humanitarian crises in its history. While in some areas electric service has not yet been restored, many citizens of Caracas resort to extreme measures to obtain drinking water, another scarce resource. In the midst of widespread chaos, the Nicolás Maduro government argued that the mbadive power outage was a sabotage of the United States. For its part, the opposition led by self-proclaimed interim president, Juan Guaidó, denounced the fact that it was the product of Chavez's lack of investment.

Journalist Nelson Castro traveled to the Venezuelan capital for to portray the situation of the interior.
