Cars: cuts exceed those provided by the government plan

Some brands have already communicated their new pricing system to their network, but others will only do so today. Last night they were still working on the price lists. Car manufacturers such as Toyota, Nissan, Honda and Renault have already set their trading strategy while others, until the close of this edition, have not done so yet.

As the market was already implementing a strong bonus policy on the part of companies before the fall in sales, the scenario presented yesterday was very different according to the brands. In the case of Nissan, for example, the bonuses are higher than those applied in May but, in June, the catalog prices of their models have not increased, which gives them a superior advantage. Other manufacturers had already sent their dealers, at the beginning of the month, discounted values ranging from 2% to 6%. In these cases, since the bonus of the "June 0 km" plan is applied to the values in the list, the difference with the prices that can be obtained last month is not as important. In any case, we must keep in mind that the official program is a floor of discounts and that it can be cumulated with others who decide to carry out each business. From one dealer of a brand – who has not yet communicated how his pricing system is maintained – they pointed out that the bonuses that had been applied in May were higher than those resulting from discounts from the official plan. The manufacturer can add one advantage over the other and offer a more attractive offer. To this must be added that each terminal and each dealer can make additional discounts depending on their needs and their stock. "In our case, with the official discounts we get, but if a competitor is tight and offers a bigger discount, we have no choice but to prepare it to avoid losing customers," said the owner of a major dealer in the north.

For this reason, it is not difficult to determine to what extent a certain model can be realized, because its final price varies from one agency to another. The attached table is only indicative, based on the official communications that the terminals transmit to their networks as part of the "June 0 km" plan.

With this $ 1 billion, the government is offering rebates of $ 20,000 for models valued at less than $ 750,000, in addition to the $ 30,000 offered by the plant. Meanwhile, for vehicles priced above this price, the state subsidy is $ 40,000 per unit, plus $ 50,000 paid by the companies. Taking into account the total amount of the grant and these reduction modules, the program would have funds to sell about 30,000 units. The plan concerns cars sold by terminals located in the country and excludes collections, savings plans and vehicles covered by internal taxes,

The measure was to be officially announced today, but because of the journalistic leak, as was the case with Ambito.com, it was decided that the president would present it on Twitter Tuesday night. What was clear was that it was hastily done. The first communication with the companies was made last Thursday and until Tuesday evening, we discussed the details of the plan. That's why yesterday, the scene was not yet clear in most brands.
