Chaos in Venezuela’s vaccination centers: long lines and large crowds recorded

The vaccination campaign continues to cause controversy and outrage in Venezuela. After the weekend, the Chavist authorities gave priority to people with the “national card”, in the last hours chaos was caused in several vaccination centers across the country, where large crowds and long lines were recorded.

Dozens of users have shared images on social networks where you can see the disorganization at vaccination points. Same, many Venezuelans woke up in the streets, waiting for the opening of these centers to receive the vaccine against the coronavirus.

A woman got out of her car and walked towards Corposalud Aragua, state located in the north-central part of the country. He recounted the situation which was already occurring at five in the morning and denounced that, despite the demands signaled by the Chavist regime, there was no type of control or priority for patients at risk during vaccination.

“We tried to put two people in the queue for the vaccination. Here is the improvisation without warning people, they were only told that they were going to be vaccinated with the cédulas, piling up everyone in a queue in the midst of the pandemic and in the midst of the peak. There are elderly people in wheelchairs, with canes, with disabilities, who have woken up in this queue “the Venezuelan woman said in the video recorded from inside her car.

“This is the tail of improvisation, propaganda … At home, they are safer than coming to be vaccinated and incubate the disease”, he added, showing a grandfather in a wheelchair standing in line.

In another vaccination center, also in the middle of a large town, a woman criticized one of the local authorities by shouting “Go to Cuba, they are making fun of people.”

“In Maracay, Aragua state, this is how people gather to try to get vaccinated against COVID-19. Paradoxically, these are the same lines where they can be infected due to the number of people (…) Only in socialism! This weekend, the coronavirus vaccination plan was implemented in Venezuela. However, the priority did not go to those at risk or to all the elderly. As the Chavist dictatorship itself recognized, the priority of these hours is all those who have the “Homeland card”.

“We give priority to the personnel who received the message via the national card. We’re not going to say we’re not going to deal with the one who got the message, we are also going to deal with him. This fact was denounced by the authorities of the Catholic Church of Venezuela., who said on Tuesday that the Maduro diet only vaccines affiliates who can accredit belong to the party that governs the palace of Miraflores, the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV). For its part, in a letter to the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle bachelet, 40 medical and academic organizations denounced the discrimination in COVID-19 vaccination in Venezuela.

“As Venezuelan civil society organizations we want to share our concern with you before the recent human rights violations that took place in the country, in particular, to the rights to life, to health, to non-discrimination and to equity in access to services, in the context of COVID-19 ″, begins the letter .

The Chavista authorities launched vaccination on Saturday, in what they called a new phase for the “massive” vaccination of the population, with the authorization of 27 centers in 22 territorial entities out of the 24 in the country. The vaccines applied are Russian Sputnik V and Chinese Sinopharm.

This is the lack of transparency that the number of vaccines arrived is unknown with precision, the information provided by the Chavist authorities being contradictory. A few days ago, Maduro announced the arrival in the country of 1,300,000 vaccines from China. However, The regime did not show images of the arrival of this shipment, as it did with others, and did not provide any further information in this regard.

Before the announcement of this new batch of doses, Maduro had given details of receiving 930,000 vaccines from Russia and China, while Minister Alvarado, raised this figure to 1,480,000, without knowing the arrival dates of the more than half a million who make the difference or other data.
