Chile eases arrival of foreigners, quarantine no longer necessary

Given the drop in the number of coronavirus cases and the progress of vaccination, from November 1, Chile is easing the arrival of foreigners and it will no longer be necessary for travelers to quarantine themselves.

As reported by the Trans-Andean government, to enter the country visitors must have the complete immunization schedule. Upon arrival, a PCR test will be performed and, in the event of a negative result, the traveler will be able to move around freely.

The measures were announced by Paula Daza, Chilean Under Secretary for Public Health, “given current figures of low incidence of positive cases during travel and epidemiological history”.

To date, Chile has recorded 1.6 million people infected with the coronavirus and the death toll stands at more than 45,000 people, according to the Department of Statistics and Information of the Ministry of Health.
