Chilean court found young man who assaulted, murdered and stored one of his victim’s arms in his backpack in April 2019.

The sentencing verdict was communicated by the oral criminal court of the city of Valdivia, located in southern Chile.

Based on the context of the case, It all started on Tuesday April 23, 2019 when 19-year-old Luis Catalán Newiman was at Plazuela O’Higgins in Valdivia drinking alcoholic drinks with two people and the victim, identified as Esteban Elías Álvarez González.

From one moment to another and without any provocation the convict attacked the deceased, causing him at least 80 sharps wounds, injuring the anterior aspect of the thorax and causing cervical injury, injuring right carotid artery, right jugular veins and earlier, injuries that caused death.

Whatever the dying victim, the condemned He took this opportunity to mutilate the ears, nose, lips, face and scalp. In addition, he disarticulated his elbow and dismembered his right forearm.

The Catalan Newiman left the place to go home where his father discovered his son was carrying the victim’s arm in his backpack, denouncing the young man to the Carabinieri in Chile.

After being detained by police and jailed by the judiciary, Valdivia chief prosecutor Tatiana Esquivel said that “This is a homicide characterized by the large number of injuries present in different parts of the victim’s body., all caused with a knife, some sharp and some sharp, in addition to the forearm section. All of these injuries combined caused his death, and in particular a few cut injuries. that the victim has in the neck region and also in the thoracic region ”.

At the time of his arrest, the accused had a criminal record for a fire. In 2017, he set fire to 7 vehicles in the municipalities of Valdivia and Paillaco, in southern Chile, and He also injured his father, whom he hit with blunt force.

When the convict was brought to justice for the first time the prosecutor Tatiana Esquivel recounted the meeting between father and son, after the homicide by Esteban Elías Álvarez González when we have the information.

Information from Daily during the day assured that the convict arrived at his home at 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday April 23, 2019 in a state of intoxication, and obscured because he had quarreled with his partner. Then he started to listen to music and had an argument with his father, which prompted him to leave home again.

At 7 am, the defendant returned home, knocking hard on the doors to open them. When the condemned man entered the house, his father noticed that he had blood on his right hand and that one of his fingers was bleeding, forcing the son to push him and sit on a bench near his house.

There the father approached and asked what was going on, to which the son replied: “Daddy, I sent some shit, check the backpack I’m bringing.” The father then opened the bag and noticed the presence of the victim’s arm. The man reported that his son “had a full human arm, like from the elbow down”.

Back home, the father called the carabinieri to report his son, who was arrested that day. It is expected that on September 28 the sentence the accused will receive will be known.
