While demonstrations and clashes between protesters against the police regarding the increase of the subway ticket were held in different parts of the city of Santiago de Chile, the building of the local electricity company, ENEL, was burned. The authorities of the company have denounced the fact "attack by a group of strangers".
A team of firefighters had to intervene in the offices of the energy entity to quell the flames. After an hour of work and the evacuation of the service, firefighters indicated that "the fire is in control phase".
The protests began Friday and lasted until night fell on students claiming the increase in the price of metro ticket in the capital, the main means of transportation. The President of Chile, Sebastian Piñera, dictated this morning the "state of emergency"in Santiago considering the level of uprising that has been experienced in the streets.

A branch of Banco Chile in the center and several subway stations attacked with incendiary bombs were also on fire, so the state-owned company suspended the service and closed its stations.
