The person in charge of lifting the body said that aside from Moise, the only person injured was his wife Martine, who is hospitalized in Miami, United States.

The couple’s daughter was in the same room as her parents at the time of the attack, but managed to hide in her brother’s bedroom, who was also unharmed.

Haitian authorities reported on Wednesday that Moses’ two sons were in a safe place, but their condition had not been clarified.

The justice of the peace also assured that Moise’s office and bedroom were “ransacked” by the attackers, who broke into the residence of the heavily armed president in the early hours of Wednesday.

Arrests

Haitian police have confirmed that four “mercenaries” were killed and two other detainees after the assassination of President Jovenel Moise.

“Four mercenaries were killed, two placed under our control. Three police officers who had been taken hostage were recovered ”, Police Director General Leon Charles said in a televised statement.
