Chinese scientists have discovered a way to produce diesel through solar energy

Chinese scientists have developed a method of producing diesel fuel and hydrogen by the use of raw materials derived from biombad and light energy, which comes from the sun or artificial, publishes Europa Press.

Professor Wang Feng and his group of the Institute of Chemical Physics of Dalian, Chinese Academy of Sciences, have discovered how Harness the energy of light promote the valorization of biombad products (methylfuran compounds) and simultaneously generate hydrogen and diesel.

Scientific tests were performed at ambient temperature and pressure. As a result, they obtained hydrogen and diesel precursors consisting of oxygenated isomers with various carbon numbers typical of diesel fuel.

Then they eliminated the oxygen content of the diesel fuel precursors and obtained sustainable diesel fuels, with components similar to modern diesel.

Today for today, Diesel has the days counted in many cities of the world. Some have begun to restrict it gradually and others have already set a date of total ban. Will this study help to produce it in a cleaner way and extend its useful life?
