The nine Argentines who lived in the collapsed building in Miami they were still missing at noon this Saturday, June 26, while the feverish tasks of the rescuers continued in the remains of the building, to try to find possible survivors who might still be under hundreds of tons of rubble. Sources from Argentina’s Foreign Ministry confirmed on Saturday that there was still no news of these missing persons. It is a family of four, which was accompanied by a relative of Uruguayan nationality; in addition to another Argentine family of three, and the figure is completed by two other compatriots who were also in the part of the complex that collapsed.
So far, the names of Andrés Galfrascoli, a 44-year-old surgeon; Fabian Núñez, 55; A 5-year-old girl and another person, according to the Noticias Argentina agency, are Manuel Lafont.
Meanwhile, the other family about which nothing has been known since Thursday morning is composed of the architect Andrea Cattarossi; his sister Graciela, photographer; and her 6 year old daughter; and the parents of both, Gino Cattarosi, 86; and Graciela, 82. Regarding this group, it was indicated that when the building collapsed, the family was on the fifth floor of the Champlain South Tower.
The Argentine Consul in Miami, Leandro Fernández Suárez, ratified on Saturday that permanent contact is maintained with the American authorities, while the tasks of the rescuers are closely monitored, carefully removing the rubble, as the risk remains that other parts of the damaged building, which have been suspended precariously in the collapse, can also collapse. For its part, the Department of Foreign Affairs is working on procedures so that the relatives of missing persons can reach the United States in the coming hours.
