Colombia records 14,189 new cases of covid-19 infections and 420 deaths, this Monday, April 19

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection reported: this Monday, April 19, 14 189 new cases of covid-19 in Colombia. In the last 24 hours, 62,825 tests which 47,637 threads PCR and 15188 on antigens.

The report also notes that, 420 Colombians died of the disease within the last 24 hours. In this way, the country reaches a total of 68,748 deaths since the virus reached the national territory.

By clustering all the figures, Colombia has reached 2,667,136 infected people, of which 101,106 active cases and 2,566,030 correspond to positive cases which have already overcome the disease.

Regarding the regions with the most reported cases, Bogota leads with 2165 infected, followed by Antioquia with 2,001 and in third place Atlantic with 1.519.

There are 1,257 conglomerates in the country. The territories are: Amazonas, Antioquia (Ituango), Arauca, Atlántico, Barranquilla, Bogotá, Boyacá, Bolívar, Buenaventura, Caldas, Caquetá, Cartagena, Casanare, Cauca, Cesar, Chocó, Córdoba, Cundinamarca, Huila, La Guajira, Meta, Nariño, Norte de Santander, Putumayo, Quindío, Risaralda, San Andrés, Santa Marta, Santander, Sucre, Tolima, Valle, Vaupés, Vichada, Guaviare and Guainía.

To manage the third peak of covid-19 infections in Colombia, the national government published on April 19 the circular 10189 with which new measures are decreed to municipalities and departments.

The document establishes the territorial entities with an occupancy rate of Intensive Care Units (ICU) of 85%, implement pic and card (also in public transport), from this Monday, April 19 until 5 morning hours Monday April 3. May. Hotels and gastronomic establishments will not be included in this measure, according to the Ministries of Health and the Interior.

Populations exceeding this percentage of occupancy must also implement a curfew between 6 p.m. and 5 a.m. (they will also apply from April 19 to May 3). Home services and the transit of vehicles whose occupants are returning home will be authorized.

In a review of the latest quarantine measure, released on April 18, the Bogotá mayor’s office reported that the Brazilian and British variants of covid-19 are already in the capital; the finding was made by the public health laboratory of the Universidad de los Andes.
