Colombia records 3,567 new infections with Covid-19, this Saturday, February 27

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection reported: this Saturday, February 27, 3,343 new cases of covid-19 in Colombia. In the last 24 hours, 42,744 tests which 27,727 are PCRs and 15,017 are antigens.

The report also notes that, 142 Colombians died of the disease. In this way, the country reaches a total of 59,660 deaths since the virus reached the national territory.

By clustering all the figures, Colombia has reached 2,248,135 infected people, of which 36,040 are active cases and 2,145,450 correspond to positive cases which have already succeeded in defeating the coronavirus.

Regarding the regions with the most cases reported this Sunday, Bogota topped the list with 1028 infections, followed by the Department of Antioquia with 511 and Valle with 405 positive cases.

There are 1,482 conglomerates in the country. The territories are: Amazonas, Antioquia (Ituango), Arauca, Atlántico, Barranquilla, Bogotá, Boyacá, Bolívar, Buenaventura, Caldas, Caquetá, Cartagena, Casanare, Cauca, Cesar, Chocó, Córdoba, Cundinamarca, Huila, La Guajira, Meta, Nariño, Norte de Santander, Putumayo, Quindío, Risaralda, San Andrés, Santa Marta, Santander, Sucre, Tolima, Valle, Vaupés, Vichada, Guaviare and Guainía.

During the transport of the vaccine to the department of Tolima, the temperature was 2 to 8 ° C from 7:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., but, between 11:30 a.m. and 12:55 p.m., the temperature reaches 9.3 ° C, i.e. 1.3 ° C above the recommended transport temperature for one hour and 25 minutes.

This case and any cases that may arise will be assessed in the context of the recommendations issued by the manufacturers and the entities in charge of pharmacovigilance. “With the above, the team in charge proceeded to quarantine the vaccines that presented this situation”, said Leonardo Arregocés, director of drugs at the Ministry of Health and Social Protection.

He also stated that the decision to temporarily suspend vaccination was taken as a preventive measure, whereas, as stated in the technical guidelines document of the National Immunization Plan Invima, as the governing body responsible for inspection and surveillance, will conduct the investigation and make the decision.

Likewise, Arregocés explained that with the data available to the Ministry of Health on the stability of this vaccine the product is presumed stable and intact since studies show that organic retains its properties at temperatures up to 25 ° C for up to 14 days.
