By an official speech, the Colombian government confirmed that eleven dissidents of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (Farc) were killed during a bombing of one of their camps in Guainía. Although this information was revealed on Monday afternoon, it was not until the night of September 27 that Defense Minister Diego Molano gave details of the incident. One of the highlights is that in the operation alias Iván Mordisco, second in command of the residual group, died.
“Today we inform the Colombians that after a military operation, a joint effort of all our law enforcement and the intelligence effort of our national army, the support of the air force and the work with the navy, the national police and the office of the Attorney General of the Nation, we have dealt a violent blow to the second leader of the FARC dissidents, alias Iván Mordisco, ”Molano said.
The operation was carried out as part of the Héroes de la Libertad campaign, which aims to weaken the structures of organized crime in the country. The bombing took place specifically in the rural area of the municipality of Morichal Nuevo (Guainía).
It should be mentioned that in this operation 10 other subversives were captured, including the pseudonym Ferney, the right-hand man “Iván Mordisco”.
