For now, international media have indicated that it is unclear when the trial against the woman will take place and what charges and convictions she may face.

However, it was the second case of abandonment in the Iberian country in recent days, on August 9. Authorities have also released the story of two children aged 2 and 4 who were found walking alone in the streets of Madrid.

Authorities said they found them naked on the streets of Plaza San Francisco at five a.m. The minors were transferred to a health center while the authorities searched for the parents.

Paragraph 3 of article 229 of the Spanish Penal Code establishes that the offense of abandoning a minor increases its gravity if it is proved that the minor may be in danger and may be punished by four years in prison.
