Contaminated Lettuce Makes McDonald's Customers Sick in the United States

The Public Health Department of Illinois in the United States and McDonald's reported this Thursday that dozens of consumers of the catering company Quick were affected with intestinal disease after eating salads sold in the Midwest.
"As a precaution we decided voluntarily to stop selling salad in the relevant restaurants until we could replace the lettuce supplier used" said the spokeswoman. -Foods, Terri Hickey.
