Cordova. Ivana Modica was murdered: her partner confessed to the crime

CORDOBA.- After eight days of searching in the area of ​​Pampa de Olaen and La Falda, this Friday evening, after 11 p.m., rescuers focused on finding the body of Ivana Modica, 47, the woman who disappeared Thursday February 11 in Cordoba. His companion, Javier Galván, detained since Monday, confessed to prosecutor Jorgelina Gómez.

Before being transferred to Bouwer prison, Galván asked to testify. He appointed the defender yesterday as the deadline was about to expire for it to be established automatically. Felipe Jure had said that his client “had nothing to do with it” with the woman’s disappearance and that he was “surprised” by the situation. As he said, he believed she “left on her own.”

Galván is Air Force pilot and Modica were civilian personnel, journalist. They had been in a relationship for just over a year, but had only been living together since December when they moved to La Falda. The lawyer said they had an argument Thursday night and he went out to “air out”.

He had denounced her in October and she, some time later. Ruled approach restrictions for both, but they broke them when they went to live together. Galván was arrested on obstruction of justice after incongruities were detected in his statements and security cameras and a rural patrol showed him to be on the road to Pampa de Olaen in the early hours of Friday.

The latest communication from Modica was with her daughter Paula on Thursday at 10:30 p.m.. The young woman, who was traveling to visit him from San Luis with her grandchildren, was surprised her mother interrupted the conversation with the monosyllables and even doubted that she was the one who answered.

The couple said they assumed the woman had gone out for a walk on La Banderita hill and that during those early days the search was focused in that area. Later, with the images, they changed to the Pampa de Olaen and tonight they were concentrated between the Camino El Cuadrado and the Hotel Eden.

Modica’s family had insisted the relationship was dominated by violence and mentioned that even her psychologist was aware of the situation. Galván was divorced and the father of a 13-year-old boy and she was also the mother of an unmarried girl.

At dawn, a demand for justice for Ivana began to circulate on social networks. They also call for “the urgency of gender-based violence”. The organizers call for a march of silence and torches. The reunion will take place today at 19 in La Falda.
