However, the president ruled out a “step back” from what was already authorized.

On Thursday, Uruguay reported for the first time since the start of the pandemic more than 1,000 active cases of Covid-19.

The President acknowledged that there was greater concern for the summer and that for this reason it was decided to keep the border closed.
