Coronavirus in Mexico as of June 12, 2021: 3,649 new infections and 274 deaths have been recorded in the last 24 hours

Although the conferences moderated by Hugo López-Gatell Ramírez, Under-Secretary for Prevention and Health Promotion, have ended their daily broadcast, Health authorities continue to release updated figures and data on the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

In this sense, through the daily technical statement it was confirmed that in the last 24 hours it has been added 3,649 new cases of symptomatic people with the SARS-CoV-2 virus. In this way they recorded 2,452,469 confirmed infections accumulated of the first recorded in Mexico. In addition, at the same time 274 people lost their lives because of the disease they registered with 230,095 regrettable deaths since the start of the pandemic.

On another side, 435,436 people are considered suspicious and they wait for the result of your test.

With that, until Saturday June 12, 2021, they are counted 22,728 patients who presented symptoms associated with the disease and has had a confirmatory test for the virus within the past 14 days. For this reason, they are considered active cases. In this domain, Mexico City has the highest number of people infected with the active virus, with 6,092.

Before ending the update conferences, the Undersecretary stressed that this does not imply the end of the pandemic. He even assured that:

Several states, in particular five, have very significant epidemic activity. In some cases such as Quintana Roo and Yucatán, it is compared to the levels they had in their most active moment, in the summer of 2020. In the case of Quintana Roo, it has exceeded it and continues with an upward trend ”.

In this sense, according to the data of the technical report, Tabasco is in second place with 2,035 active cases. Behind are the aforementioned states, being Yucatan the first of them with 1,904, followed by Quintana Roo with 1,557. Therefore, it is recommended to continue to follow health measures to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus.

Regarding hospital saturation, on the general beds nationwidel, the authorities confirmed that Baja California Sur and Quintana Roo 30% but did not exceed 40% of their capacity. In addition, 19 entities are on the occupancy list between 10% and 29%. Meanwhile, the five entities with the most beds available are San Luis Potosí, Guanajuato, Chiapas, Tlaxcala and Zacatecas.

On the other hand, in beds with ventilation support, that is to say for the management of patients in intensive therapy, it has been confirmed that Yucatán and Tabasco are the only states with an occupation greater than 30% and less than 40%. Thirteen states are part of the group with an occupancy rate between 10% and 29%, while Guanajuato, San Luis Potosí, Morelos, Coahuila and Jalisco have the lowest saturation rates in the title.

Fortunately, 1,952,382 people were discharged from hospital after contracting the disease. They are also part of the 7,223,365 people who were notified the National Epidemiological Surveillance System (SNVE). Of the total figure, 4 335 420 gave a negative result after undergoing screening tests on suspicion of being infected with the new coronavirus.
