Coronavirus in Mexico February 24: more than 1,000 deaths recorded on the last day

Ricardo Cortes Alcalá, director general of health promotion, reported that on February 24 they are already adding 182,815 deaths confirmed in Mexico due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). In other words, in the last 24 hours there have been 1,006 deaths.

Currently, no entity has more than 70% occupancy and 29 states report less than 50% occupancy. That is to say, of the 31,841 beds in total, 21,600 are available and 10,241 are inhabited.

In the case of beds with mechanical ventilation equipment, noted that only Mexico City has an occupancy rate between 69% and 50%.

Likewise, there are 31 entities with less than 50% occupancy and none with more than 70% occupancy. In other words, of the 11,469 beds in total, there are 7,467 beds available and 4,002 beds occupied. It should be noted that for six weeks, the estimated and active cases of COVID-19 show a sustained decrease.

Vaccine advance

The official reported that this Wednesday, February 24, 85,576 doses of the antigen against the SARS-CoV-2 virus were applied.

Regarding foreigners who reside and pass through the national territory, the Ministry of Health has specified that these elderly people can receive the vaccine, whether they have a unique population registration code (CURP) or any other document that identifies them.
