Coronavirus in Mexico on April 29: in one day, 529 deaths were added

José Luis Alomía Zegarra, Director General of Epidemiology, reported that on April 29, there was already 216,447 deaths confirmed in Mexico due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). In other words, in the past 24 hours, there have been 529 deaths.

Likewise, no entity has more than 50% occupancy, since all 32 states report less than 30% occupancy. That is to say, of the 30,810 beds in total, 26,944 are available and 3,866 are inhabited.

In the case of beds with mechanical ventilation equipment, used for critically ill COVID-19 patients, noted that there is a national occupation of the 18% (with a downward trend) and that only two entities have between 30 and 49% occupancy.

Likewise, there are 30 entities with less than 30% occupancy. In other words, out of the 11,069 beds in total, there are 9,079 beds available and 1,990 beds occupied. It should be noted that For several weeks, estimated and active COVID-19 cases show a sustained decrease.

For his part, the Under-Secretary for Health Promotion, Hugo López-Gatell reported that this Thursday, April 29, 369,760 doses of the antigen against the SARS-CoV-2 virus were applied.

In sum, 17,357,993 vaccines have been applied to date. Of this total, 12,235,767 were first doses for health workers, the elderly and teachers. In addition, 821,994 were second doses for medical personnel.

He reported that 977 first and 602560 second doses of vaccination had been applied to educational staff. They also injected 10,653,462 antigens for the elderly; of these, 5,328,705 have the full immunization schedule.

21,804 (0.1%) were lost doses that reached Mexico. These losses are also taken into account by the vaccination schedule, because before the pandemic this phenomenon was recorded due to complications related to their transfer.

On the other hand, it has been recorded that 16,820 people had reactions (ESAVI) to the vaccine applied to them, however, only 272 were serious. Of these, 14,123 are related to Pfizer-BioNTech, 1,438 to AstraZeneca, 703 to SinoVac, 268 to Sputnik V, 275 to CanSino, 9 are unknown and 4 occurred overseas. According to the agency, there are still 80 people hospitalized because of the response they received.

It should be noted that this Thursday at 2:26 p.m., the fifth shipment arrived in the country with 800,000 doses of Sputnik V vaccines, produced in Russia by the Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology.

Of the total number of vaccines received today, 300,000 are for first doses and 500,000 for full immunization schedules.
