José Luis Alomía Zegarra, director general of epidemiology of the Ministry of Health, reported that this February 10, the day they already add 169,760 deaths confirmed in Mexico due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). In other words, in the past 24 hours there have been 1,328 deaths.

Regarding the beds of general hospitalization, He explained that there are 48% of occupied spaces in the country. The three states with more than 70% occupancy are:

– Morelos (73%)

Likewise, there are six states with between 69% and 50% occupancy and 24 with less than 50% occupancy. In other words, of the 35,205 beds in total, 18,294 are available and 16,911 are inhabited.

Vaccine advance

For his part, the Under Secretary for Prevention and Health Promotion Hugo López-Gatell said 220 doses had been recorded in February. He pointed out that the low number was due to a failure in reporting, so tomorrow he will report again how many have been applied.

With the arrival of the said batch, the schedule established with Pfizer is reactivated, once the expansion works of its factory in Belgium are completed, which will allow it to maintain the supply in the countries with which it has ongoing contracts such as Mexico.

Among the staff in the health sector and educational institutions such as UNAM, there are more than 25 thousand volunteers who have registered to be part of the Roadrunner Brigades that support the operational strategy of the national vaccination policy against the Sars-CoV-2 virus, for the prevention of COVID-19 in Mexico.
