According to the data of the written technical report, in the past 24 hours, there has been a record 8,988 new cases, with a total of 2,013,563 cumulative confirmed cases since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic

On the fourth day of the fifth epidemiological week, the existence of 2,208,668 estimated cases. On another side, 56,545 people (3%) had symptoms in the last 14 days, Therefore, they are considered active cases and may contribute to the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus among the rest of the population.

Regarding hospital saturation, the doctor José Luis Alomía Zegarra, Director General of Epidemiology, indicated that 38% of general beds in the country are occupied and the figure did not show any changes from yesterday’s figures. In this sense, 32,000 beds without respiratory assistance, 12,267 are in service and 19,733 are available. In addition, no federal entity has recorded general bed occupancy above 70%.

Meanwhile, four states reported occupancy between 50% and 69%, while 28 reported less than 50% occupancy. On this day, the behavior of Guanajuato, an entity that has gone to a low occupancy rate with 49% of your used general care beds.

On the other hand, in beds with ventilation support, that is, for the care of patients in intensive therapy, it has been announced that national occupancy is 41%, that is to say without variations compared to the last report. In fact, 11,681 fan beds in Mexico, 4,792 are occupied and 6,889 are available.

In addition, four states reported occupancy ranging from 69 to 50 percent, and 28 entities have less than 50% occupancy in beds equipped with a fan.

Regarding vaccination, Dr Hugo López-Gatell Ramírez, Undersecretary for Prevention and Health Promotion, indicated that today 104,666 doses have been placed across the country. It should be noted that in this phase of vaccination, members of the second priority group are also taken into account, i.e. adults over 60 years old.

This way Since December 24, 2020, when the first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine was applied, a cumulative 1058139 doses have been applied. In addition, since February 15, the injection of the one created by AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford has also started.
