Coronavirus in Mexico on March 28: 194 deaths have been recorded in the last 24 hours

In Mexico, this Sunday, they signed up 201,623 deaths from the coronavirus since the start of transmission of the disease in the country. However, in the past 24 hours, the Department of Health (SS) reported 194 new deaths associated with the disease.

Alethse de la Torre Rosas, director of the National Center for the Prevention and Control of HIV and AIDS, said there are 34,495 (1%) active infections, which represents people who have had symptoms in the previous 14 days.

From week 10 to 11 of 2021 a 10% decrease in estimated cases (sum of confirmed and suspected infections) nationally, including 2,420,746 until this Sunday. Likewise, 1,761,786 people have recovered from the disease.

“The good news is that this downtrend continues., both of the estimated cases and of those recovered, remember that this curve of people recovered is practically a mirror of the estimated cases, and here again the message is very clear: most people who develop SARS-CoV-2, will fortunately have a recovery“Said the specialist.

Regarding people hospitalized with SARS-CoV-2, the official announced that the occupation at the national level was 20 percent. According to the Serious Acute Respiratory Infections Network (SARI), there are 25606 general beds available and 5,807 busy. While with a fan there is an availability of 8282 accessible to patients before 2496 which are saturated.

Currently, there is no entity in the Republic with more than 50% occupancy in general care beds or to care for patients in critical situation due to COVID-19.

Vaccination against COVID-19 in Mexico

According to the daily report of the Ministry of Health, on March 28 the antigen was injected into 123,624 people, thus cumulating 6,852,596 doses applied since December 24, 2020. In addition, the number of vaccines lost amounts to a total of 4,266 (0.06%).

Among the cases enumerated, only 1% (97 patients) presented serious complications related to the application of the antigen. In addition, it was detailed that at present, only 24 people are hospitalized.

10,823,845 doses of the vaccine arrived in Mexico to prevent infection against SARS-CoV-2, of which 4,548,375 correspond to Pfizer-BioNTech, 870,000 to AstraZeneca, 400,000 to Sputnik V, 4 million to SinoVac and 1,005,470 to CanSino.

Furthermore, Dr Alethse de la Torre reminded people of the importance of continuing to implement hygiene and social distancing measures.
