India continues to break its own world record for new coronavirus infections, with nearly 380,000 new cases per day.
The situation is dire in the world’s second most populous country which already has its health system collapsing as cases continue to rise.
For the next few weeks, an exponential increase in the number of deaths is expected, which at the end of April exceeds 200,000.
But for many experts, the severe humanitarian crisis they foresee in India could have serious implications for the rest of the world.
