Crisis in Venezuela: the National Assembly appoints a representative in Argentina

CARACAS.- In the midst of the strong international pressure exerted on the government of

Nicolás Maduro

, the National Assembly of

Venezuela

– chaired by

Juan Guaidó

and dominated by some diplomatic representatives appointed by the opposition in countries of the region, including Argentina.

The one appointed by the self-proclaimed president in charge in the country is Elisa Trotta Gamus. He also named Orlando Viera Blanco, Canada; Guarequena Gutiérrez, Chile; Humberto Calderón Verti, Colombia, and María Faría, Costa Rica.

At the same time, a group of Venezuelans nominated by Guaidó today began a US tour during which they will meet with US officials to seek support and coordinate the "transition to Venezuela".

Party leader Primero Justicia (PJ), MP Julio Borges, and chief Carlos Vecchio, recently appointed head of US affairs by Guaidó, will lead "a new round of high-level meetings to seek a final articulation between the United States and the Lima group, "said the PJ in a statement.
