Before taking part in the street Galiano event, Antonio Rodiles, SATS State Coordinator, noted:

The event took place one day before it was held Cuba the constitutional referendum, during which voters will approve or reject the draft new constitution on the island.

Berta Soler, Chief of the Ladies in white and his wife, Angel Moya, told Radio Martí that the goal pursued in this demonstration was to talk to people for "that they do not vote, because the dictatorship does not fall with votes, but with protests ".

He stressed that "the goal is for people to become aware and go out on the streets to demonstrate in a mbadive voice".

Soler explained that the Forum for Rights and Freedoms rejected "this farce of the new constitution (and calling) civic demonstrations in the streets and also to pay tribute to Orlando Zapata Tamayo, who, one day as today, has lost his life and gave it for a just cause, for freedom of the people of Cuba and for the improvement of prisons ".

He also added that this February 24 "marks the 23rd anniversary of the murder ordered by Fidel and Raul Castro of the four young Brothers to the Rescue pilots, who saved many lives in the Florida Strait."

Ailer González Mena, a member of the SATS State, said on his Facebook page that the protest publicly expresses ignorance about the farce of the 24 F and the positioning of No Go to Vote.
