A confirmed case of measles has put the authorities of the Dutch island of Curacao on hold, as a cruise of 300 people has been made there after being quarantined a few days earlier in Santa Lucia.

The ship departed St. Lucia last Thursday after spending two days in quarantine. Authorities said the ship's doctor had asked for 100 vaccines after a diagnosis of measles had been diagnosed in a woman's crew.

It is worth mentioning that the ship Freewinds belongs to the Church of Scientology. Church officials also did not comment on the situation. The ship is expected to arrive this morning in Curaçao, which is usually moored. The ship operates as a religious retreat, according to the church's website.

Some of the symptoms of measles are runny nose, fever and rash with red spots. Most people get better, but measles can also cause pneumonia, brain inflammation and, in some cases, death.
