Daniel Ortega’s regime advances against NGOs: it ordered the illegalization of 15 other organizations

The Nicaraguan regime, through the Ministry of the Interior, ordered the cancellation of the legal personality of 15 other NGOs, with what 49 local entities have been banned since the socio-political crisis erupted in the country, as a legislative source reported this Friday.

The government’s proposal was taken up by the Sandinista legislator Filiberto Rodriguez, who presented before Parliament, controlled by the ruling party, a decree initiative to annul the legal figures of the 15 NGOs, including the Mejía Godoy Foundation, by Nicaraguan singer-songwriters Carlos and Luis Enrique Mejía Godoy.

In the explanatory memorandum, the legislator indicated that the director of the Department of Registration and Control of Associations of the Ministry of the Interior, Franya Urey Blandón, sent to the President of the Parliament, the official Gustavo Porras, a report in who The demand for the outlawing of the 15 NGOs is expressed because they did not respect their legal and statutory obligations.

The list of NGOs

The other NGOs concerned are the Nicaraguan Institute for Popular Research and Education, the Nicaraguan Soy Association, Christian Medical Action, the Collective Association of Women of Matagalpa, the Association of the Central American Institute for social integration and the Association Center for Studies for Governance and Democracy.

Also the Federation of Non-Governmental Organizations of Nicaragua, the Diakonia Nicaragua Foundation, the Entre Volcanes Foundation, the Nicaraguan Medical Foundation Dra.
